John is a total believer in the rejuvenating power of the body. His childhood interest in science and energy flow propelled him to a university degree, and to his continuing studies in quantum physics as applied to the human experience. An avid nutritionist and organic gardener, for years he taught nutrition, chemistry of the body, and stress reduction courses at his Arkansas food cooperative. He uses energetic healing (Jin Shin Jyutsu, myofascial release, and meridian meditation) routinely for both his and his family’s well-being.
In 2008, while attending meditation classes in Fargo, North Dakota, John attended Iyengar, Hatha and Ashtanga yoga classes in the same studio. He loved the combination of alignment, strength, flexibility, and meditation. Since moving to Austin shortly thereafter, he has been a daily student of yoga, and finds a fulfilling practice whether it be Gentle, Hatha, Yin, Meditation, or even stronger flow practices.
In 2014, John completed his Hatha Flow teaching certification at Yoga Yoga, and has facilitated over 1750 classes, workshops, and private lessons. He emphasizes Alignment, Breath, Awareness and Compassion.
