How Did Warrior II Yoga Studio Get Its Name?
While in Yoga Teacher Training, each student in Daniel’s class was given a specific posture to study and to create a yoga class sequence for teaching. They were then asked to lead their peers through the sequence as a demonstration of their teaching abilities and as a requirement for graduation. Daniel was assigned Virabhadrasana II, more commonly known as Warrior II.
Through his sequence creation, Daniel found that he felt incredibly connected to the posture. It wasn’t just a physical form, it was an invitation into the Inner Self. To Daniel, Warrior II is a posture that not only builds physical strength, but also offers the practitioner the opportunity to harness inner resiliency.
Through Warrior II, we can be reminded of the connection we have to our own Inner Warrior of Peace and Compassion. Through Warrior II, we can find the parts of ourSelves that have the ability to experience ease and comfort within the stability of our foundation. And through Warrior II, we can build confidence of Self.
Daniel’s goal is to grow into a neighborhood yoga studio that is focused on building a community where everyBODY is welcomed and accepted with open arms. It is Daniel’s hope that every student who walks through the studio doors feels safe, comfortable, and like they are returning home to their own Inner Warrior.
